Regardless of how you think about what impact you can make in your child's youth ministry. The fact is we really do need you! A passionate youth ministry cannot flourish without a group of parents that are involved and engaged in the spiritual life of their teenagers. In the heart of every young person is a need to have a strong connection with those who serve as parents or guardians over their lives. The High School ministry is here to help you serve Christ as you guide those God has entrusted to you. Your teens thrive and grow spiritually when you are invested in their youth ministry and faithfully support the student leadership. Not just in prayer but also with participation in youth functions. Our goal is that you keep informed, stay connected, and actively volunteer in the High School group God has provided for your teenager. We all hope for teens that are being healed, equipped, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Yet, it will take time, a thick shell, dedication and unconditional love to bridge the gap between parents and teens. Pastor Jose and the student leadership are here to serve you and your family. Please use the youth web pages at The Grace Place site to keep you updated on the ministry events and fun activities to reach the teenagers. It is a great opportunity for you to take action in the ministry of your teens at such a crucial stage in their life.
Our mission for parents is simple:
Be Hungry, Live Connected, Stay Positive and Love Jesus!
Be Hungry - Your appetite for God can help lead your teens to follow in your example. Being hungry to know the scriptures, living out you faith in Jesus and serving can demonstrate to your teens how they should practice their Christian beliefs. As parents we should not be satisfied with simply dropping off our teenagers at church. We must remember to pray they encounter Christ everytime they enter The Grace Place. Let your hunger to see God move in your teens bring you to your knees daily. Youth are spiritually hungry! So let's keep them in the Word, active in services and other activities. Live Connected - Want to be a connected parent? We have a volunteer program in High School Ministry that gives parents an opportunity to serve once a month. It will require your participation, dedication and time to connect with teens. Being a part of your teenager's ministry and make a difference! What a blessing to be able to look back and say I was involved while my teen was at church. Even at various other activities I was present to help the student leadership. It's a huge encouragement to young people when they have a strong group of parents that are ready to be an example of Christ to them. Stay Positive - As we know teens have and will continue to make mistakes. It's all apart of God's learning curve as they develop their knowledge of what to do with the gift of free will. When dealing with youth we must never forget our own decisions as we went through their age. Even when times get tough stay positive. Our faith tells us that Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. If He is in control of our teenagers future than eventually it will work out and bring God the glory He deserves, (Romans 8:28). Love Jesus! - Many of us know people who are short tempered, quick to judgment, inpatient and self centered. When it comes to teens then are real sensitive and influenced greatly by others conditional love. As parents God teaches us to provide an environment where love speaks louder than what the world has to offer them. The unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Let your passion for the Lord keep you from being complacent and letting others take over the influence your teens need from you in their lives.
