Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

[6] in all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make your paths straight.”

Psalm 27:1-3-“The Lord is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid? [2] When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. “…If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

 

 Ezra 8:23 ~ "So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He answered our prayer." Throughout Scripture, fasting refers to abstaining from food for spiritual purposes.

  • Fasting helps us center on God and draws us in closer to experience a deeper relationship with Him. Like Anna in Luke 2:37, we can "worship with fasting."
  • Fasting reveals the things that control us.
  • Fasting helps us keep our balance in life.
