The Grace Place Testimonies
Why we love The Grace Place...
God’s Grace and His Purpose for My Life...
I first visited the Grace Place thanks to my wife, Michelle, in December of 2008. Prior to that time I had not regularly attended Church in over 30 years. As my family and I walked through the front doors of the Grace Place, I was overwhelmed and in awe of the facilities, organization and Church family members. I immediately connected with Pastor Rick and found out just how many things we had in common.
During this time in my life, I had just completed chemotherapy treatment for Stage 3 cancer. It was clear to me that I was no longer in control. When I first started attending the Grace Place, Pastor Rick was beginning the sermon series “Live Like You Are Dying”. Needless to say, these sermons hit home with me and my eyes were opened to the many blessings and grace that God has provided my family and me. I asked Jesus to forgive me for my sins and accepted him as my Savior.
We wanted a church that made us feel at home…
When we first got married I do not believe that we had any intentions on attending a church. However after our first child and even more after the second, we realized that the more guidance that they could receive the better off they would be. After just a few services we realized that we needed just as much help as the kids did. We first thought that a big church was not going to be our home church. We did not want to be just a number. We wanted a church that made us feel at home and welcomed us a family.
We visited several churches when we moved to Martin County but we knew after only a few sermons that the Grace Place would be “our” church. We no longer felt that a big church would not fit all of our needs. Once we became active members and took in all that the Grace Place had to offer, it was settled – “we were home”. All of the classes, activities, events, the people and just the feeling that we get when we walk into the church is what keeps us attending.
After the death of our 11 year old daughter in 2010 we received overwhelming support and love from both the members and staff. There is no way that at our age we would know how or ever be expected to plan a funeral. That is when our church family stepped in and guided us in the direction we need to go. We heard it many times from our non-church friends what an amazing church we have. We now understand that we were put on this earth for a purpose. Although we may only know the first step in our journey in Christ, we know that it is a journey that we will gladly take. That with Rick and Karon’s help, we will reach our spiritual goals.~ Todd & Cindy Cooper
This is a positive, spiritual, active place of worship...
In May of 2002, I relocated to Stuart after residing in the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area my entire life. Shortly after, I began my search for a new church home. Having been an elder in a traditional style church, I fully intended to stay on that track. God had other plans — as I visited other churches, I felt that "traditional" is not what God had in mind for me. The Grace Place was the fourth church on my list. The Sunday morning in June that I first attended The Grace Place, worship was awesome. A second visit confirmed that God had led me to a very special, positive, spiritual and active place of worship. In the months since first attending The Grace Place, it's rare that I miss a weekend service.
Getting involved in the Single (30+) and Men's Study groups has been very critical in both my spiritual and personal life. As I look back on the 11th year of my Christian / Faith journey, The Grace Place has been a very positive force in my life. I've been blessed to be baptized, serve on the Frontline Team and help out with the Singles group. ~ Eric C. Olson
It was the genuine concern and relevant messages...
At first it was the concern of Pastor Rick for a community issue, then the discovery that he and his church family were genuinely concerned about me and keeping me in prayer during my tenure as the District County Commissioner. Upon visiting the church I discovered what I needed and wanted in my life...consistency in the pastoral messages which were rooted in the Word of God. The multi-media presentations (music and drama) were relevant to the Word and the anointed preaching with the "scripted notes" helped to provide even more background on the sermons. The warm, caring feeling that I get from the church family is so special to me. When I experienced a period of illness/recovery, the church family shared their concern through prayers, phone calls and visits by the pastoral staff and other members. I have been a Grace Place member since September 2000, but I really feel that I have been around for much longer...Over the years, I have been involved in many other ministries of the church and feel blessed to know that the Grace Place is my church family. ~ Elmira R. The Grace Place has walked with me through many life changes...
I started attending The Grace Place when I noticed the sign on US 1. I was looking for a church that had Saturday evening services and that is what the sign offered.
I had been a member of a traditional church for the past 30 years and being new to the area and recently widowed, I was going through a lot of adjustment. I felt that I had lost my home, familiar job, loving church, and beloved husband of thirty years.
Since I have been getting involved at The Grace Place, I feel acceptance, balanced, and confident that God is revealing His plan for my life (Psalm 32:8), through His people. I get really excited each time I read over the "goals and strategies" of the church for the next three years. The Grace Place offers an opportunity to grow through the "Life Grow" groups, in addition to opportunities to contribute through the many ministries of the church. The services address relevant topics that help me to stay focused on God's plan for my life where I am today. I feel as if God has drawn me back into His family, as I experience the love of His people. ~ Pat Lesser
