Staff Pastors

Senior Pastor, Rick Addison

/files/Images/Staff/Addison_Rick/Addison_204x190.jpgPastor Rick's ministry journey began as a senior in high school when, after making a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, he became aware that God had a special purpose for his life – to serve as a pastor of a local church. After graduating from Bible College his ministry journey began in 1979 in North Michigan.  Since then Pastor Rick has served four previous churches in Michigan, Ohio and Alabama, before coming to serve as senior pastor of The Grace Place Community Church in 1993.  He believes that all of the things he did in ministry prior to coming to The Grace Place Community Church were a part of God’s preparation process to serve this great church.  Since beginning his ministry journey Pastor Rick has graduated from Moody Graduate School in Chicago, Illinois with a Master of Ministry degree.  His primary ministry focus is to take biblical truth and apply it through preaching and teaching in practical and relevant ways to impact the lives of seekers and believers.

Rick and Karon have been married since August 1974.  For their entire ministry journey Karon has been a true partner in ministry serving in a variety of capacities in the various churches they have pastored.  Rick and Karon have two sons, Eric and Jonathan, who are both married and each have children.

Pastor Rick’s primary interests outside of our church are his four grandchildren, Ryan, Talia, Bentley, and Karlie.  In fact he has said many times that his favorite people in the world are his grandchildren and his favorite title is “Papa”.  He is also a car buff and loves to cruise in his  Corvette.  Rick and Karon have a get away place in Northeast Alabama that they love to get away to and while they are there Rick loves to maintain his properties by tooling around on his old tractor.  He enjoys most things related to the outdoors like fishing and hunting.

Rick’s life verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”
